Booking & payment

Start with a 30-minute phone planning call to discuss your ideas, location, timing and photography needs. Scheduling the call does not reserve a photography date, and no payment is collected through Calendly.

After the call, a payment link is emailed to you for the applicable deposit. Deposit payment officially reserves your photography date and counts toward the total fee. The contract is sent in advance and may be signed as late as the day of the shoot; signing it is not a prerequisite for reserving the date. For Portrait / Couples and Event Coverage, the remaining balance is due on the shoot date. For Business / Branding, the remaining 80% is due on the shoot date unless the specific written project agreement says otherwise.

Portrait / Couples is $175 for a 1-hour session. A $50 deposit leaves a $125 balance, plus any applicable additional charges. Event Coverage is $300 for the first 2 hours; the $100 deposit leaves a $200 base balance, with additional time at $100 per hour. Established travel, park/permit/entry fees, advanced re-editing or other agreed additional charges may apply. We’ll establish event details and any additional requirements during planning.

Business / Branding is custom quote only, with a 20% deposit after quote approval. Scope, commercial usage/licensing, travel, deliverables and special requests inform the final price. Commercial usage terms are discussed before the final quote.

Changes, cancellations & arrival

Please provide at least 48 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. For client cancellations and no-shows, the deposit is nonrefundable once booking is confirmed. With photographer approval, it may transfer to one rescheduled date; a new date is subject to availability.

Late arrival may reduce the available session time and does not automatically reduce the fee. For changes to a planning call, use the cancel or reschedule link in your confirmation email.

If illness, emergency, trail closure, equipment failure or a comparable issue prevents the photographer from completing the scheduled session, we’ll first offer to reschedule. If a reasonable reschedule cannot be arranged, you’ll receive a full refund of money paid for that booking. This is the specific exception to the nonrefundable-deposit policy.

Weather, travel & locations

Outdoor sessions affected by bad weather may be rescheduled without an additional rescheduling fee. If weather, trail conditions, closures or other outdoor-location hazards make a session unsafe or unsuitable, the photographer may modify, relocate, postpone or reschedule it.

Travel over 50 miles one way adds a $100 travel fee. We’ll discuss travel and any location costs when planning your session.

If your chosen location requires a permit, reservation, parking fee, admission fee or similar access cost, you are responsible for those costs. Please share location requirements, access restrictions and any important preparation needs during planning.

Your photographs, delivered

Portrait / Couples photographs are delivered in 7–10 days after the session. Event Coverage photographs are delivered in 10–15 days after the event. Business / Branding delivery expectations are discussed and agreed according to the project, with no fixed delivery deadline promised.

Sneak peeks are often provided when practical, but are not guaranteed. No exact number or delivery deadline is promised.

Final photographs are delivered through an online gallery or another agreed method. Delivered galleries and final client files are retained for 90 days after delivery. Please download your photographs and keep your own safe backups during that period; permanent archival storage is not provided.

Editing & retouching

Photographs are selected and edited in the style of O’Halligan Photography’s portfolio. Minor retouching may be included at the photographer’s discretion. Advanced retouching, object removal, compositing or extensive re-edits may require an additional charge.

Raw or unedited files are not included unless specifically agreed in writing.

Using your photographs

For personal-use sessions, you may enjoy your photographs personally, share them on social media and print them for personal use. Resale, paid advertising, publication submission or commercial use requires written permission. O’Halligan Photography retains copyright.

Business / Branding has separate commercial usage terms. We’ll discuss the intended uses and licensing scope during the planning call before finalizing the quote. The agreed commercial terms apply to that project; a personal-use-only license does not describe Business / Branding work.

Privacy & public use

O’Halligan Photography may use client photographs in the portfolio, website, social media and marketing unless you opt out in writing. You may request that private or sensitive-session images not be used publicly at all.

You can state this preference in the planning-call questionnaire or email shamus@ohalliganphotography.com. Please also share any people who should not be photographed, confidential details or practical preparation needs relevant to your session.
